It has been informed that the investment from the foreign investors in the Indian market has gone up reasonably well for the month of August this year. It has also affected the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex for the month.
Sensex had gone up 0.6% for the month with the help of this FII inflow. There had been investments from domestic institutional investors as well.
It has also been found out that global fund houses had made an impressive net investment of Rs 11,685 crore (USD 2.5 billion) in the month under review.
The FII had just maintained their bullish behavior for the third consecutive month in the month of August as well. SEBI has produced the data of these investments for this time period. In this month, the foreign institutional investors had purchased shares worth Rs 62,187.50 crore.
Moreover, they had also offloaded equities worth Rs 50,500.40 crore for the same month. Hence the net FII investment stood at Rs 11,687.50 crore. The total investment in the local stocks from the FIIs has gone up to Rs 60,447 crore (USD 13.1 billion) on yearly basis.
