O2 through a report states that users pay more than what they really get in respect of broadband accessibility.
More particularly, O2 claims that users need to purchase broadband services that do not comply with the needs and offers O2's home and broadband, Felix Geyr, to state "tailor its services to people's needs, help consumers understand exactly what they should be buying and avoid marketing based solely on speed".
O2 states that users are losing around £1.2 million each day or approximately £750 million a year to pay for faster than usual broadband offering.
Thinkbroadband. com carried a poll based on Telefonica-owned mobile operator and was seen that merely only five per cent of respondents make use of broadband to download music and three percent to download movies.
It was also stated one out of every five broadband user who took part in survey stated that they made use of their internet access for multimedia services in the form of video-streaming BBC iPlayer.
