Google has agreed to settle the privacy lawsuit of Google Buzz, and will pay $8.5 million; as settlement of a privacy lawsuit for the social networking site.
The case was filed by Eva Hibnick, a 24-year old Florida resident and Harvard Law School student, she comma lined that Google Buzz shared personal information without her consent. Google was also recommended to educate people about Google Buzz's potential impact of privacy.
Soon after the complaint filed by a Private Group the search giant was in trouble. However, Google immediately worked to fix the situation, but the social site was not accepted that well by the users and numerous changes have been made in consideration with respect to the social networking site.
It was further stated that seven individuals had filed law suits in opposition to Google Buzz for privacy violations since the release of the social network back in February.
Mike Yang, Associate General Counsel, through an official blog post wrote: "The new simplified and refined privacy policies of Google. So now, if you agree to Google's Terms and Condition pertaining to any new or upcoming service, you will permit Google to collect your data."
