Best Buy Co., the largest and top ranked retailer of consumer electronics in the US, in partnership with CinemaNow, is all set to make renting and buying of home videos for its customers easier and quicker by digitalizing the whole process with the help of the digital delivery system software.
The software will enable the customers to browse and shop from CinemaNow's entire video library, which will come together in one place. The library will be included in all the internet connection devices which are now all set to be sold in more than 1,000 Best Buy stores across America.
"Digital is developing as a channel and we're forecasting that by 2012 it will be a significant, double-digit percentage of the revenue generated by movies watched at home", said Ryan Pirozzi, director of digital media for Best Buy.
In addition to CinemaNow and Best Buy, other alliances which currently offer the digital delivery system are Apple Inc., and Amazon.com which have joined hands with Netflix Inc. Blockbuster Inc., and CinemaNow are also joined in a deal which lets customers rent DVDs over the internet.
