The recently released 2K Games title Mafia II has been banned in United Arab Emirates for violence, sexual content, nudity and strong language as reported by the MEGamers.

It is the sequel to the infamous gangster game Mafia which gets a 'Mature' rating as supposedly is banned by the National Media Council. It was further claimed that other titles like Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, Darksiders, Red Dead Redemption, and many other releases.

The banishing of the game indicates that the game won't be offered at any of the retail outlets of the UAE. In the start of the year it was reported that Heavy Rain was forbidden for PS3 in the UAE.

It was stated that the National Media Council did not give any reasons, but it is claimed that the game tags a Mature rating and a description by the international game rating body ESRB states that it has: Blood, Intense violence, Nudity, Sexual content, Strong language and Use of drugs and alcohol.
