The main unions of BBC have declared the dates for the strike action because of a dispute over changes to the pension schemes. The dates of the strike have been set on 5th and 6th of October and the Conservative Party Conference is also scheduled on the same dates.

The first proposal from the unions was rejected by the BBC earlier on Monday forcing the employees to go for a strike.

Union has said if the demand will not be fulfilled by the first strike the strikes will go on and on in later days. The next strike dates are set on 19th and 20th of October and the government spending review is scheduled at the same time.

BBC is also aware of the fact and trying to cut the pension deficits by discussions with its board members. BBC said we were very disappointed that the unions had declared for the industrial strike action.

The strike dates are also finalized keeping the big events in mind so that it could create big problem for BBC. The unions are demanding for certain changes in the pension scheme of BBC.
