NZ and Australia See IVF Procedures Double Between 2004 & 2008

NZ and Australia See IVF Procedures Double Between 2004 & 2008Australia has seen the IVF procedures increase by almost twice, and it should not come as a surprise.

As per a review done, almost 3.5% of babies in the present time are born with IVF assisted technological process.

The report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare took a review of all the reproductive procedures carried out in Australia and New Zealand in the year 2008 and then made a comparison with the preceding years’ data.

Professor Michael Chapman Medical Consultant for the report and senior fertility specialist at IVF Australia said that there are a number of reasons concerning more number of people making use of IVF.

Mr. Chapman said that one of the main reasons that more people were taking to using IVF in Australia was because it has become easily affordable, accessible and acceptable by the community.

Also, people have realized that the procedure is quite successful in itself and that IVF offers improved results so the efforts of getting the services have become easy for people to avail.

The usage of the IVF process has increased amongst older women, as it seems, but there is no such study showing it clearly.
