The Southern region cities like Dunedin and Invercargill are determinedly on Jetstar's radar, as the budget airline rolls out a belligerent development stage in New Zealand trailing the exit of Pacific Blue.
According to the chief executive Bruce Buchanan of Jetstar group, Dunedin, Hamilton, Rotorua, Invercargill and Nelson were all domestic destinations and are on their roll.
Further he established that the airline had been engaged in opening negotiations with Dunedin International Airport, and for any projected direction it was significant to have the society and airport right behind them. The Jetstar group was diligent stretching its domestic, transtasman and international paths; however it was feasible that more domestic destinations might be glued before the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
The Qantas-owned airline, yesterday declared that it might augment services amid Christchurch, Queenstown, Wellington and Auckland by 39 flights in a week.
Mr. Buchanan added that these new services erected upon Jetstar's developing gung ho proposal on New Zealand's high-traffic paths, giving a stage for upcoming development and new destinations.
The development for the airline was underpinned by the located of two A320 aircraft in New Zealand by early on 2011, which shall outcome in the airline starting 116 weekly return flights.
