2degrees Mobile has announced that its customers will now be able to make the most of the latest 3G network as the telecom services provider gets ready to upgrade its services to 3G by integrating 2,100 MHz, 3G spectrum across its 12-week-old network. The act will let 2degrees compete more effectively with its much larger competitors, namely Telecom and Vodafone.
CEO of the company Eric Hertz, while sharing that the integration of 3G has been an important milestone for the carrier, said, "Adding third generation technology to our network means that not only are we able to further increase the capacity on our network, but more importantly we are able to bring our customers new products and services. We look forward to bringing these new services to market throughout 2010".
Till now, 2degrees had been restricted to the 2G network, mainly focusing on voice calls and texts.
Although no specifications have been made about the dates starting which 2degrees will go all 3G, the announcement has delighted its customers and the company is now looking at better services and profits for the coming year.
