Super Fund makes a comeback The Superannuation Fund backed by the Government has recently been at the top of the list of the investors after it was able to return a $285 million as a profit for the year ended June 2010. It is to be mentioned here that the fund registered a loss of close to $583 million in the last year.

While the find is biggest by the memberships and asset value involved, it may be noted here that the managers of the pensions of civil servants who were members before 1992.

The Chairman Tim of the fund McGuinness said that the overall result of the past year is a welcome recovery.

Moreover, the Chairman also mentioned that the comeback is very important as compared to the two years of downturn. For the record, the fund has been able to register a rise of 10% which was ahead of its target
8.2%.

Keeping in mind the fact that the fund has been giving an annual return of close to 2.3%, the 10% return has surely come as a surprise to many watching the industry closely.
