For one of its domestic aircraft, Air New Zealand has showed off a new design.
Yesterday, the new livery was unveiled, which will adorn the company’s new A320 aircraft, by CEO Rob Fyfe at Sydney. As it will be painted black and emblazoned with a koru and a silver fern motif on the tail, the first plane in the A320 fleet will stand out from the rest.
As Air New Zealand’s sponsorship of New Zealand Rugby Football union, including the All Blacks enters it seventeenth year in 2011, the design symbolizes its support to the rugby union including all blacks. CEO Rob Fyfe said, the plane will start operating on the main domestic routes from February.
He further said the new design will be painted on only the first aircraft of the fleet in tribute to Air New Zealand’s long-standing support to the Rugby Union.
The airline will continue to have one of the youngest aircraft fleet, combined with the new long-haul fleet of Boeing 777-300 aircraft, which will be arriving at the end of this year and the existing new domestic fleet of A320 aircraft.
