Motorists are being expectant to plug their tanks full prior to the cost of petrol feels the heat of a twofold strike from GST and an elevated excise on 1 October.

The Goods and Services Tax shall mount from Friday by 12.5% to 15% and a fuel tax on petrol will also grow.

The Automobile Association expresses that the excise duty on petrol will compare to an additional 3 cents per liter and GST an added 4c.

It further says that the motorists are in a habit to tolerate the petrol increases; however 7c is more than normal. Diesel will also mount by 3c a liter.
