The next generation mobile phones are expected to disrupt the cable television signals of a house and possibly the v sets of their neighbors as well. The research by the Cable Europe seems to confirm that the 4G mobile is becoming a worst fear for the cable industry as the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology will interfere with the Cable TV if it is used within six meters of a set top box.
A Cable Europe report which was compiled by the Belgian testing group, Excentis said that most number of the users will experience the interference of their TV and mobile.
The UK will be fully switched to digital TV by the year 2012 and the bandwidth freed will be auctioned off to mobile phone makers for LTE or 4G services.
Meanwhile the government of New Zealand has announced on last month that the analogue television services will be switched off in between September 2012 and late 2013 in the country. Spectrum freed up after the switch off will be used for 4G telecommunication services in the country. This is a very crucial issue for the regulators.
