Leading the chart, the Microsoft websites have outnumbered all other online web portals, this September. This was revealed by the Industry tracker comScore that showed a larger population of the internet users at the Microsoft website.
Backing the reports, the company disclosed that as many as 1.2 billion Internet users in September spent a total of nearly 27 billion hours online on Microsoft alone. Most of the users aged 15 and above.
"The Internet continues to be a dynamic and growing environment around the world with the global online population climbing more than 20 percent in the last year", said Jack Flanagan, the Executive Vice President of comScore Media Metrix.
Out of the total minutes spent worldwide, Microsoft alone managed to earn 14.5 per cent minutes, wherein almost 70 per cent of the time spent was at the Windows Live Messenger service, revealed the study.
While Microsoft clinched the number 1 slot, the Google websites were ranked second overall, followed by Yahoo and Facebook. Google managed 9.3 per cent of the time, while Yahoo! and Facebook earned 6.3 and 5.1 per cent respectively. The time spend on Facebook is almost three times higher as compared to the time spent in the same month last year
