Concerned over the recent floods that gripped the New South Wales mid north coast, the Federal Government has decided to offer grants and loans to those who were affected by the floods. According to the authorities, more than $1 million damage was caused to public property during the major flooding.
As many as 200 residents are still isolated in the Coutts Crossing area, west of Coffs Harbour. "The state government will distribute the money in the natural disaster-declared areas of Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Kempsey and Nambucca to help restore essential public infrastructure and pay for relief operations", announced Robert McClelland, the Attorney-General.
Concessional loans up to 25 thousand dollars can be applied by the Voluntary and non-profit organizations, while the small businesses and primary producers can avail up to 130-thousand dollars. Also, to make things easier for the road and rail freight subsidies, loans up to 15-thousand dollars will be allowed.
