Car registrations rise

new car registrationThe new car registration rose by 12.6% in the month of September in this year in New Zealand compared to the same month of last year ahead of the rise in the goods and services tax in 1st October as the rental firm purchased new vehicles.

According to the figures of the New Zealand Transport Agency the new passenger car registration was totaled at 6298 in that month compared to 4720 in the previous month and 5593 in the same month before a year. The used car registration totaled at 7430 in the last month compared to 7530 of August. The number of used car registration stood at 5919 in the month of September of last year.

Toyota Corolla was the best sold car for that month with 631 new registrations and the Camry model of the same Toyota stood at second position in terms of sales with 356 new registrations.

The Ford Focus was the third bestselling car for that month with 280 new registrations. A total number of 1646 new commercial vehicles were registered in that month down from 1717 in the previous month.
