The unemployment rate in the Queensland area has recently seen a fall as it stood at 5.3 per cent. In fact, it is to be mentioned here that the number of people looking for work in the region has also increased.
For the record, the rate of unemployed people in the region stood at 5.4% in August this year but it has shown a good improvement over the past one month. According to the statement made by the Treasurer Andrew Fraser to the Queensland Parliament, the state government has 44K jobs to meet its election promise of 1 lakh net new jobs in its term.
Moreover, he also mentioned the fact that the employment growth was overall flat during the past one month.
However, one cannot deny the fact that the region has added 200 new jobs in its kitty which is a clear indication of the fact that it has enjoyed 14 straight months of job creation in the region. Moreover, it is expected that the region will be able to maintain the growth levels even in the months to come.
