Although swine flu virus is witnessed to placate this year, it is speculated to circulate for the coming years.
New Zealand has already heaved a sigh of relief with the end of the influenza season. However, the country has witnessed over 15 of 20 swine flu-related deaths due to swine flu this year, the Ministry of Health posted.
Besides, a net 727 people have received hospitalization with confirmed cases of pandemic influenza this year.
Healthy pregnant women and mothers who have recently given birth are advised to opt for a vaccine, which shields the body against swine flu infection and all other strains spreading.
"We predict that the swine flu virus will be the dominant strain of virus this winter and there may also be other flu viruses around", posted Public Health Specialist, Dr. Brenda Corcoran. "The seasonal vaccine protects against swine flu and other common flu strains . . . it can be given at any stage of pregnancy and will also protect the baby".
In addition, the World Health Organization has cautioned people against the virus, speculating it to circulate in coming years and get on the similar track as a seasonal influenza virus.
