According to the State Services Commissioner Iain Rennie, the Chief Executive of Research, Science and Technology Foundation Murray Bain will serve at the new Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Mr. Bain will be the ministry's first Chief Executive and will start his work from November 1. Mr. Bain earlier worked as Assistant Governor Head of Operations at the Reserve Bank.
The new Ministry has been created by merging the Foundation for Research Science and Technology and the Ministry of Research Science and Technology.
Mr. Rennie said that Mr. Bain has been chosen for the post, as he has vast experience in leading many organizations over a period of time.
Wayne McNee, who is the present Head of the Ministry of Fisheries, will be the new Chief Executive and Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
He will take charges from the present Chief Executive Murray Sherwin, who will step down from his post this year.
Mr. McNee also worked as the Chief Executive of Pharmac for a period of five years.
Mr. McNee has been appointed for five years and will start his work at the ministry from November 20.
Mr. Rennie said that Mr. McNee has played a vital role in improving the aquaculture law in New Zealand.
