Fire officials have said that a multi-storied luxury hotel was gutted down on Tuesday by a huge fire in Thane.
The fire broke out at peak afternoon hours following which more than a dozen fire brigade vehicles and ambulances were rushed to the spot to take control of the fire which had completely engulfed the luxury hotel building which was ten-storey high as per officials.
The fire began from the top floor and was brought under control after over one hour but then the damage had been caused already. As per initial reports a short circuit was the reason behind the fire.
The hotel also had a Inn which was owned by Pratap Sarnaik who is a Shiv Sena legislator. The hotel is situated in the Ghodbunder road locality of the city. The fire completely burnt the inn and it was destroyed fully.
No casualties were reported since all those who were inside the building were evacuated on time. Till now the officials have not been able to find out the reason that caused the fire.
