LinkedIn, the largest professional social network website, has 50 million members all over world. Its users post their information like resumes to help them in finding jobs, or employers their employees. Twitter allows people to broadcast short messages up to 140 characters. Both the platforms have now joined hands.
A partnership between LinkedIn and Twitter will facilitate sharing information across the services. The users of LinkedIn and Twitter can cross-file to each other's services, by checking a box on both the websites. Anybody who wants to share updates on Twitter with LinkedIn contacts can simply do by using the hash tag #li or #in.
Allen Blue, co-founder of Twitter said that the members of LinkedIn would be able to automatically send recent Tweets, but only the selected material can be transported as of now.
Other co-founder Biz Stone says, “The business use case of Twitter is turning out to be very important, and more and more people are finding that the persona they create for themselves on the web is part of their resume in many ways”. The users of LinkedIn would be able to speak with their followers as well as the audience of Twitter through cross-post.
Both the companies have begun rolling out the feature but it may take few days to be activated in accounts.
