As the growth of the Manufacturing industry in the New Zealand circle is measured by an index published by BNZ and Business New Zealand saw mixed reactions from the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that caused a lot of destruction at Canterbury, the manufacturing activity is in return only saw a minor change.
In fact, BNZ recently said that while there were several downbeat comments over the earthquake’s immediate consequences, people were also in support of the same and hence there were both positive and negative remarks over the effect on the business activity due to the same.
Moreover, it also said that while the month of September looked like another disappointment for the economy, but the extensive details of the survey provide a sense of stability and even a mild expansion is also in the offing.
It may be noted here that the granted conditions underfoot looked again damp but the survey had some ray of hope in its forward looking statements and people can expect things to be better in the coming times.
For now, close to three of the survey's five seasonally adjusted indexes deliveries, production and finished stocks were in contraction.
