Windows Phone 7 Possesses Less Apps than iPhone or Android-Based Phones

Windows PhoneMicrosoft on October 11 made public its new Windows Phone 7 mobile software and its CEO announced that it was a significant launch for the Company.

Microsoft has been ruling the world in PCs and there will be no impact to it, even if its smartphone doesn’t work wonders. But, as forecasted by Gartner, the sale of the Microsoft’s smartphones will exceed that of PCs in 2012.

According to ChangeWave Research, the measure of customer satisfaction of Windows smartphones is 24%, while that of iPhones is 74%. In case of Android handsets, the figure is 65%. Also, as against Apple’s 250,000 and Android’s 70,000 applications, there are a few hundred apps for Windows smartphone.

All Windows Phone 7 handsets are fitted with three buttons - home, search, and back. They have at least a five megapixel camera.

The sale of Windows Phone 7 handsets will begin in European market from October 21 and in the U. S. from November 8.

Microsoft mobile Chief, Andy Lees expressed that Microsoft doesn’t require having as many apps as Apple or Android has and it only needs some popular ones, so as to ensure the quality of Windows handsets.

The Windows Phone 7 smartphones will be provided by AT&T (T) and T-Mobile, but next year the software will also become compatible with carriers like Sprint or Verizon Wireless.
