Quake brings need for quick emergency advice

Quake brings need for quick emergency adviceIn a recent presentation made by the Queenstown property developer and Christchurch Airport chief executive Jim Boult he said that there is a need for increasing the airport emergency-response operations. While it is to be mentioned here that the veteran was talking at the New Zealand Airports Conference in Queenstown on Friday, his presentation titled "Shaken Not Stirred: Lessons from the Christchurch Earthquake", gave several lessons to the airport authorities.

The topmost of them being the fact, that airports should have been moving with a view to give constant training around disaster scenarios and not just those involving aviation-related incidents.

Experts are of a view that despite the fact that Christchurch International Airport Ltd (CIAL) was very much lucky considering many reasons but the most critical factor for the same was that the earthquake striked at 4.35 AM.

He also said that the training around such incidents will increase the preparedness levels and there is a need for strong communication between staff and delegates.

However, one cannot show back to the fact that the few number of deaths at the incident have been a major positive factor for the impact of the same.
