New CEO at Commerce CommissionThe Commerce Commission of New Zealand has decided to promote its regulation general manager Brent Alderton to its chief executive post in the very first month of the coming year. He will replace the current chief executive Nicholas Hill, who will step down from his post at the end of this year. Mr. Hill has been working as the CEO of the Commerce Commission since the post was formed in the year 2008.

As per the report Mr. Hill is leaving the watchdog top set up an office in the city of Auckland for the consulting company Martin Jenkins.

The chairman of the Commerce Commission Mark Berry has said the commission has gone through many organizational restructure under the leadership of Mr. Nicholas Hill and the commission is expecting further performance improvement under the leadership of the new chief executive Brent Alderton.

Mr. Brent Alderton joined the Commerce Commission early in 2009 and he has been focused on telecommunications and developing part 4 of the Commerce act. This operation from Mr. Brent has changed the regulation of suppliers of gas pipeline services, electricity services and many other services in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch.
