Chief Executive Officer of TIG Resigns from His Post

Chief Executive Officer of TIG Resigns from His PostRob Spray told Telecommunications Review that his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the Telecommunications Industry Group has come to an end and that he has resigned from his post.

Russell Stanners, who is the Chairman of the TIG, praised Rob’s dedication toward his work and his contributions for the growth and development of the industry group.

He further said, “Twelve months on and the industry is working well together which is a tribute to Rob’s efforts as CEO. I and the TIG board wish him every success in his next venture”.

He also reported that there are no plans to appoint a new CEO of TIG in near future. When Spray was asked the reasons behind his resignation, he refused to reveal where he is going.

Russell further said that before finding a suitable replacement for Spray, TIG is waiting for the Government’s decisions on Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) plans and more ‘clarity’ in the industry.

There are rumors that Spray could be the next Chief Executive of TUANZ, after Ernie Newman recently resigned from this post.

In July 2009, Spray was appointed the CEO of TIG, which was initially created with 11 members in the month of April in the same year.
