All health officials are taking stringent measures to make sure that the prescription drug abuse is prevented or reduced in local communities and schools.
The School Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hathcook said, “Ninety percent of our problem with drugs is from prescription drugs.” He added that the usage of prescription drugs has reached a degree of epidemic in all the schools across the country.
He then held a pamphlet of “Keep Your Prescription Drugs Secure” and said pointing towards it, “You see marijuana here and there, but right here is the problem. I think I’ve seen one cocaine case in the nine years I’ve been here.”
He had a meeting with St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor with some others to find an answer to fight the prescription drug problem which has spread like a disease in the society among the youth.
All the pharmacies have agreed to participate in the distribution campaign of the pamphlets while issuing the prescription drugs. Even educational institutions have agreed to distribute these pamphlets to the PTO organizations therefore the pamphlets are sent across parents at PTO events.
