One of the biggest names in the gambling industry, Tabcorp Holding has recently said that the company has called upon the fed requesting to establish a national regime with a view to govern funding and taxation process for the racing industry.
The Chief executive of the company, Elmer Funke Kupper recently said that it has made significant investments in the Victoria and New South Wales even despite the fact that there have been significant variations between states and territories in terms of wagering taxes and racing industry product fees.
The CEO also mentioned that the company is of a view that the larger states of Victoria, NSW and Queensland welcome a national approach to the taxation and funding.
It may be noted here that Kupper made this announcement at the AGM of the company addressing the shareholders.
He also said that the current situation in the Australian market is in a state where the bookmaker can offer exactly the same product as the tote and yet the bookmakers still pays only one-tenth of the product fee as compared to the latter which is a big issue to address.
