The government in New South Wales has recently challenged the survey which had ranked the state's economy as the worst in the country. It is to be mentioned here that the report released by CommSec i. e. the CommSec's State of the States report has compared every state and territory current growth against the decade long average.
According to the finding of the report, it has found NSW as lagging behind in economic rankings in the country. While the report found that NSW hasn't been a key growth driver, it may be noted here that the report also ranked NSW at the last spot for the months of January, April and July surveys as well.
However, according to a statement by the NSW Treasurer Eric Roozendaal said that it has challenged the report because of the official data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) contradicts its findings.
Moreover, the spokesperson also said that the NSW government relied on the most up-to-date figures from the ABS and as the data shows that the growth of the region is more than in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.
