While talking about his second battle with cancer, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent feels that extreme resilience and aggression are instrumental in combating the dreaded prostate cancer. The man of steel and courage Allan Willett states that though he was annoyed after discovering that he had developed prostate cancer yet again, but it took aggression to thwart the disease.
The official representative for the Queen of England in Kent further adds that he had beaten his disease in the same manner fourteen years ago.
However, Lord Lieutenant took barely four months to fight off the cancer by using radiotherapy and has returned to work. The only problem that he faced was off not working because he happens to be a very active man, who is always on the go.
Another reason, why Mr. Willett was so annoyed was because he had, prior to being diagnosed with prostate cancer the second time, was diagnosed with a mild case of Parkinson’s, as well.
While being away for treatment, Mr. Willett had handed down all his responsibilities to his deputy Vice Lord Lieutenant – Viscount De L’Isle.
The 74 year old Lord Lieutenant had come up the ranks after he made windfall gains in the packaging and plastics machinery industry. Following which, Mr. Willett was appointed as the Lord Lieutenant of Kent in the year 2002.
