An expert on fertility from US has recently said that women in their 20s should get their ovaries frozen to facilitate healthy conception when they ready to start their families when they are older and are in their 30s, 40s or even 50s.
During the American Society for Reproductive Medicine meeting was informed by Dr Sherman Silber in Denver that a woman has the option of freezing her ovary when she is in her 20s for later use.
He carried out the first complete ovary transplant in the year 2007 and says that the procedure of freezing the ovaries will be much more efficient than the freezing eggs. However, the experts from UK have warned that ovary freezing had still not been tested enough.
He also added that women are the most fertile when they are much younger and the chances of conception keep reducing with age even though the procedure of freezing the eggs are presently availabe at clinics in the UK but normally they can only handle very few eggs at any given time.
