A petition was made by Ranthambore Park Bachao Samiti who accused the forest and district administration officials of flouting the wildlife, environment and civic laws during the marriage of celebrities Russell Brand and Katy Perry. The petition was heard on Saturday by the court of chief judicial magistrate.
The decision of the court is still pending and will be announced on 2nd November. The petition also names the newly-wedded star couple and their friends as co-accused.
The petition was filed by the Samiti's president and local lawyer, Akshay Sharma, who charged the couple of flouting the rules of no loud music after 10 pm. They were also charged for smoking, consuming liquor and carrying firearms into the forest region.
Other accusations hurled at them are disturbing endangered animals, changing movement routes fixed by the forest authorities and also getting into a fight with the paparazzi right inside the park, thus creating a threat to human lives inside the tigers' reserve.
Meanwhile, the forest officials were accused of driving the tigers to regions near to where the celebrities were holding up so that they could spot the tigers easily. This was one of the chief reasons leading to territorial fights among the tigers.
