Meridien Energy's customer base on a fall!

Meridien EnergyThe number of customer and electricity generation of Meridian Energy were trailing at a lower level in the past three months that ended September as compared to the same period a year earlier.

The state-owned company that operates its hydro stations on the Waitaki River and at Lake Manapouri has recently said that the generation volumes in the past month had fallen largely because of the increased generation from the counterparts. Moreover, the company also said that with hydro national inflows and storage above the average level was also one of the big concerns for the company.

For the record, the total generation by the company stood at close to 3386 gigawatt hours (Gwh), which was down from the level of 3532GWh that the company generated in a year ago period. The retail customer base of the company fell at a level of 1,80,237 for the three months that ended September which was much low from a level of 1,84,444 that the company had in a year ago period. The chief executive of the company, Tim Lusk along with the other senior management is planning to host the Rotary Club of Waimate and Waimate District council which will be a invitation-only event at the Waimate Golf Club.
