Gemtime Jeweller merged with Showcase Jewellers

Gemtime JewellerAccording to major event for the domestic jewellery's industry; two leading names in the industry have joined hands which is expected to give the industry a bigger name to fight with.

It is to be mentioned here that the Jewellery chain Gemtime Jeweller has recently announced it's merged with Australian jewellery buying and marketing group Showcase Jewellers.

The Gemtime NZ chairman Larry Graham said that the merger between the two companies will mean that Gemtime's 24 stores in New Zealand can now capitalize on the international buying power of Showcase. For the record,

Showcase is now planning to increase its membership to over 50 stores in the next year. It may be noted here that the group in total has close to 275 independent jewelers operating in the Australian market and with a turnover of close to $500 million, it is one of the biggest names in the list of buyers who bag the popular Pandora jewellery range.

Both the merged parties are owned by their members. Showcase's chief executive, Michael Mishevski, said that merging of the two companies will be beneficial to both the industry as well as the customer.
