Nissan recalls more than a 1,000 vehicles

NissanNissan's New Zealand branch has recalled 1592 vehicles. This is part of the global recall plan of the automaker which has seen close to 2 million vehicles being recalled world over. The recall directive was issued last month and is the third largest recall ever done by the company. It was technical glitches that appeared creating ignition problems that led to the take backs.

Tiida, Micra and Navara models of the company are in the list of the recalls and was informed by Nissan New Zealand managing director John Manley while talking to NZPA. He said, "Anybody that owns one of those vehicles will get a letter from Nissan within the next couple of weeks ... and they will be invited to bring their vehicle into a Nissan dealership and the part will be replaced free of charge."

John further added that the company was working with the transport authorities to be able to track down any and every imported Nissan vehicles that fell in the list. Even these owners were given a free replacement. Nissan is after Toyota, Honda and BMW that went for such recalls.
