As we settle into influenza and pneumonia season, health officials and hospitals alike are reminding the public to get vaccinated for the flu.
Although over 17,000 have already gotten their shots, officials say that many more are still missing the vaccination.
It is imperative that people get vaccinated in November, the health region says, since it takes a few weeks for the vaccine to fully provide protection.
In order to facilitate the process, clinics will remain open throughout the month. "We've moved from the large clinics to smaller ones available in our offices", said Dr. Tania Diener.
"We offer clinics twice a week and encourage everyone to get a flu shot this year."
