SFO still investigating the Natural Dairy, UBNZ case

Natural DairyAfter many of the investors had lost hope on the case, the Serious Fraud Office has recently said that it still investigating on the further clues in the land transactions involving Chinese-backed company Natural Dairy.

It is to be mentioned here that Natural Dairy is further looking to buy close to $200 million worth of dairy farms from the receivers of the Crafar family group of companies.

However, on the 21st October, the SFO had said that it has started to look into the transactions involving names like Natural Dairy (NZ) Holdings Ltd and UBNZ Trustee Ltd; UBNZ Assets Holdings Ltd; and UBNZ Funds Management Ltd. Moreover, the SFO also made sure that the investigation is being done on the basis of the information from the Overseas Investment Office.

Natural Dairy chairman Wu Nengkun said to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that its legal adviser in New Zealand has recently been told by the SFO that the investigation in not related to Natural Dairy.

However, the SFO chief executive Adam Feeley has recently confirmed that the statement was not correct. Moreover, he also said that the investigation may include people in the company or transactions involving the company as well.
