German healthcare Company Bayer is about to buy the largest private healthcare organization in New Zealand, Bomac. The sale of Bomac to Bayer is being stated to be completed by the early parts of the year 2011.
Both the groups have already signed an agreement regarding the sale. However, at this point of time the paperwork related to the deal has not yet been approved.
Bomac is known to produce healthcare products for animals, and manufactures 290 animal healthcare products. The products designed by Bomac are meant for livestock in farms, horses and pets and was founded in the year 1958. The Company currently has 200 employees under its payroll, including 25 who are present in Australia.
Bomac also happens to own a stake in its venture in Argentina. The Company is known to have a presence in 60 countries, all over the globe, with its leading product being a treatment for a disease known as mastitis in dairy cows.
The Head of Animal Healthcare Business for Bayer in the Australasia Region, Dr. Alexander Jahn, while talking about the takeover stated that the deal would further help Bayer enhance its presence in the Southern Hemisphere. He expressed that Bomac would help Bayer get hold of innovational products, which could be showcased to the whole world through Bayer.
