A tearful May Wang says that her community will turn aligned with her if she discloses who lent her $852,000 to pay creditors 6c in the dollar of what they are to be paid. This woman is fronting a Chinese proposal to buy 16 former Crafar dairy farms.
At Auckland Ms Wang was came out in the High Court. She was trying to stop a bid from the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) to destroy her following the collapse of her hotel and property business Dynasty Group.
An extra $852,000 was proposed by Ms Wang pay to creditors due $22 million from the collapse of Dynasty Group, she had already dedicated on top of $500,000.
She said that the $500,000 would come from her own future consultancy fees; however the $852,000 was lent to her by five friends and acquaintances from Hong Kong and China.
But she refused to say the names of the people who helped her because if she tells the name then it would break a privacy agreement which she had with them.
Last night and tonight there was a discussion with Associate Judge Hannah Sargisson in chambers regarding the issue of whether Ms Wang should name the investors and lay down to deliver a decision on it later today.
