Holden is offering its new small car, Barina Spark with a focus on economy as well as affordability in Australia.
Barina Spark is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol which is claimed to offer economy of 5.6 litres per 100km and one of the lowest CO2 emission of just 128g per km, which is amongst the lowest n its segment.
The five-door hatch is expected to be the most economical car from the company until the launch of Volt 2012. The vehicle is a safe choice for new divers as it builds a good safety net with electronic stability control and has six airbags as standard. The car has a five-speed manual transmission even as most competitors now rely on automatic transmission.
Barina Spark is aimed at people in age group 25-35, who are looking for compact vehicle with bright colors and one which is also affordable at the same time. The company is offering various stickers which can change the exterior look of the car. The company has also created a website which allows users to design their own car and share it with friends on social networking sties.
The entry edition of Barina Spark is priced aggressively and is just $1000 more than rival Suzuki Alto, which is believed to the cheapest car in Australia.
