New Zealand's second-largest internet provider, TelstraClear, has reinstated its email services for more than half of its customers.
The company officials stated that engineers have been working since 5pm on Monday to fix a serious issue that affected nearly 180,000 accounts, including Paradise ones. Users were allowed to send mails but were unable to receive them, and at times could not access their accounts online.
TelstraClear claims that the fault is yet to be pinpointed and soon an investigation will follow once services are fully restored. A team has been deployed to sort out the issue.
The company's call centre has been bombarded with customer complaints, one of whom says TelstraClear hasn't done enough to alert people about the issue.
Jody Wicksteed, who runs a home business, says she hasn't been getting any updates and came to know about the same through Google.
Telstra is yet to comment on the same and it seems need to answer many of its account holders.
