A look at the G20 summit

G20 SeoulAs the Indian prime minister will fly towards Seoul, the Capital of South Korea to be at the fifth meeting of the 20 world’s largest economies, he will be ready to interact with the US president Barack Obama once again.

However, it is to be mentioned here that the interaction during the G20 meeting will be on matters that will be far less emotive than the ones on which the US Prez has charmed the nation on his four day visit to the country.

But one cannot deny that the issues will be less substantive in nature. There are close five broad issues that needs to be discussed at the current edition of the G20 meet - the framework of balanced and sustainable growth, reform of the international financial institutions and financial regulatory reform.

For the record, Koreans have taken initiative on their part to add two more items to the agenda of the G20 meet i. e. the development and trade and a financial safety net for developing countries. The theme of the conference is expected to be on the liens of sustainable growth beyond the crisis.
