A file has been suit against Air New Zealand claim anti-competitive conduct by the European Commission. For being part of a freight cartel, 11 other airlines have been charged €799.4 million ($1.4 billion).
A global cartel that exaggerated the price of air freight services has been managed by airlines including Air France-KLM, Singapore Airlines, and Qantas and British airways, from 1999 to 2006 since seven years.
For opposition rule the cartel would have continuous working said Commission vice-president Joaquin Almunia and had asked the commission was not in its inquiry.
The fine was dropped against the Airline as they were positive of their virtue which had been continued and were not amazed, said a spokesperson. This news was welcomed by Air New Zealand and had dropped from the commission list.
The cartel has been spoiling companies and clients in Europe said Almunia. The prices sustained through the economic depression till date if the commission had not stopped it.
During the Alliance meeting, among them the airlines have decided the surcharge, to re force the fuel price to increase as the commission investigation confirmed about this. To comprise overstated security charges the surcharge was increased 9/11.
