Adding another product to its recent string of newly unveiled offering, Microsoft on Wednesday launched the public beta of Office 2010, allowing all users to now experience the products new and improved collaboration features as well as cloud computing integration. Also launched alongside the Office 2010 beta were Sharepoint 2010, Visio 2010, Project 2010 and Office Mobile
2010 for touchscreen smartphones with Windows Mobile 6.5.

With the latest releases, the technology giant has delivered to the world its promised softwares through the "three screens" of technology - PCs, TVs and mobile phones, all linked to "cloud based data".

Through Office 2010, Microsoft has introduced the Outlook Social Connector, which enables incorporation of business and social networking feeds in Outlook, and feeds from LinkedIn will be added to OSC early next year, made possible by the LinkedIn-Microsoft partnership.

"There are a ton of word processors out there -- but how many of them let you also do workflow management? What's really powerful about Office is to view it as a platform. The links to Sharepoint and workflows, these are the kinds of things that set it apart", said Dave Sobel, CEO of Microsoft Gold Partner Evolve Technologies.

Office 2010 is available for download at Microsoft's official web site. The product was unveiled at the company's Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles.
