Mortgagee Sales Hit All-Time High

Official data shared by Terralink International has revealed that mortgagee sales all across the country have returned with full force and have hit an all time high, after experiencing a dip in the month of August. September saw a substantial hike in sales, with a recorded figure of 343 registrations. This was an all-time high, after the previous figure of 321 registrations which were recorded in July this year.

Confirming that regional towns and cities have recorded the highest sales, Terralink Managing Director Mike Donald has shared that the hike has come as no surprise as signs always showed that the "worst is not over for property owners". He also said that a true decline should not be expected until next year.

Latest figures shared show that for the month of September, 42% more mortgagee sales were recorded as compared to the previous month, and this has been a 2000% increase on the 16 sales for September 2007, when the property boom was at its best.

For September 2009, mortgagee sales accounted for about 4.7% of the total 6400 property sales.

Experts believe that mortgagee sales are one of the best indicators of how the economy is doing. When they fell for a bit in August, many were quick to say that the worst effects of recession might be wearing away, but September's high rise seems to have dwindled confidences all around.
