A campaign was launched by the Australian Nursing Federation for the Napthine Government to comply with their promises of taking out $21 million package of hospital security guards that was promised previously.
Tasmania's Health Department Refuses Link between Illnesses and Contaminated Water

Tasmania's Health Department has said there is no link between contaminated water on the west coast and illness among some residents. Around 250 households in Rosebery are now drinking water from an alternative water supply because of unsafe levels of lead being detected last week.
A former resident said there have been concerns for years about contaminated water from the nearby mine.

An announcement came yesterday from MSD Animal Health that the Veterinary Medicines Directorate has granted the company a provisional marketing authorization for Bovilis SBV. It is the first vaccine to specifically target the Schmallenberg virus in cattle and sheep.

Leaders of 20 emergency departments have sent a letter to senior NHS managers warning about lives at risk in A&E departments. The leaders fear "toxic overcrowding" and "institutional exhaustion" will not assure safe care to patients.
